PRINCETON SCHOOL GARDENS COOPERATIVE
PLANTING GARDENS AT EVERY SCHOOL
WE ARE COMMITTED:
We are a group of garden educators, writers and farm advocates who believe that gardening should be an essential part of every child's education. Each of us has designed, dug and helped to grow edible learning gardens at our children's elementary schools: we now have four edible teaching gardens in Princeton, New Jersey.
WE ARE A COOPERATIVE:
We are a Cooperative and have received a number of grants to support a paid coordinator, Diane Landis, who has worked as a community organizer for more than twenty years and run national, state and local community service programs. Ms. Landis is also a journalist.
We have an advisory team of three individuals. Each person brings their unique perspective and strengths to the work we do. They are:
Dorothy Mullen, a Master Gardener and MSW in Counselor Training. She runs a learning garden at Riverside Elementary School in town.
Karla Cook, a journalist who founded thefoodtimes.org a website for food lovers, food activists, chefs, cooks and policy makers.
Fran McManus, a national farm advocate and cook book writer.
WE ARE A CLEARINGHOUSE:
Through this wiki site, we will provide ideas, tips, movies, lesson plans, planting schedules, curriculum links, cafeteria news, national updates and more.
